SH CH SHENANAGIN STOCKBROKER

It is with a great deal of sadness that I have to report that LUDO aka SH CH SHENANAGIN STOCKBROKER is no longer with us. He was a once in a lifetime dog, a unique character, a fixture here at home and is quite simply irreplaceable.
He was born on 25/11/91 as a
result of the mating of Jill Holley’s SH CH BARDONHILL TEAM SPIRI T AT WYNJILL
to our own
SH CH SHENANAGIN SUGAR AND SPICE and stood out at a very tender age of about 4
or 5 weeks old.
In a truly illustrious show career he amassed a total of 16 CC’s and 19 RES CC’s, was Best in Show at Gundog Society of Wales in 1994 and G2 at East of England in 1995.
As a stud dog he was very influential. He produced 7 Show Champion daughters to a variety of bloodlines namely :-

He also sired our own Shenanagin Shareholder, his only male offspring to win a
CC.
His stud career came to an abrupt halt at only 6 years of age when information about CLAD became available and with the subsequent DNA test proving conclusively that he carried the defective gene.
LUDO dominated our home and right to the end, he was very much the alpha male. He was a joy to live with although he was very vocal, he was a great advert for the breed with anyone who visited us.
We miss him like hell.
